Cookies and visit data

These are the choices offered on SwissStat, from the least useful to the most useful: advertising first, then visit data.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

The website displays Google ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google asks for your agreement before using cookies to personalise ads, and you can change your mind at any time. Without your agreement, only non-personalised or limited ads can be shown.

Visit data

SwissStat counts its visits with an in-house tool: no cookies, no identifiers, no IP address stored and no external service. For each page viewed, it records the page, the origin of the visit, the type of device and browser, the approximate location (city, region, country), the length of the visit and clicks. An irreversible visit code, renewed every day, makes it impossible to recognise a visitor from one day to the next. This data is kept for 25 months at most and is passed on to no one.

This anonymous counting requires no cookie. It respects your browser's “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals: if either is enabled, your visits are not counted. Details are in the privacy policy.
